Our client is a young, innovative company, launching an exciting new technology in the blood testing industry.  We are recruiting for a Market Development Director to drive adoption of their technology in the Northeast and Mid Atlantic regions, by working with key opinion leaders and early adopters to establish the initial install base.

 

This is a fantastic opportunity to build the revenue stream from the ground up, with equity stake and potential for career advancement into sales leadership over the next 12 months.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Meet sales objectives, identifying early adopters, develop and support validation labs
  • Build a network of key opinion leaders; develop and grow key accounts
  • Manage full spectrum of the sales and support process, including managing internal and external customer relationships, negotiating contracts, product delivery, in-service and after sales support
  • Missionary sales tactics and heavy prospecting: Search, identify and qualify leads within research hospitals, transfusion centers and blood banks
  • Call on researchers, physicians and hospital C-Suite executives

 

Skills & Experience:

  • BS in life science or business
  • 3+ years experience selling clinical diagnostic equipment and consumables into transfusion labs and/or blood banks
  • Established relationships in regional hospitals, transfusion labs and blood banks; a network that includes Hematology and Oncology MDs a plus
  • Track record of successfully selling value proposition to hospital C-Suite executives
  • Understanding of the medical diagnostics/IVD market, specifically the blood testing industry
  • Demonstrable track record of growing revenue in a demanding sales and support environment
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal skills and negotiation skills; ability to build strong networks and successfully manage customer relationships
  • Independent, self-motivated, high achiever mentality
  • Missionary sales experience and passion/motivation to develop a new market
  • Aptitude for, or experience in, mentoring and leading other sales contributors

 

Compensation:  Lucrative base salary, uncapped commission, stock options
